How to make all video files & extensions playable on your PC

Liked a video at your friends home, brought it to your PC using a CD or thumb drive. Open with windows media player. Damn!, it’s showing up some error that it can’t play video file. You probably got hurt a lot. There are two ways to make all video files playable:

1) VLC Media Player:

I already described about this player on “Freewares I use” post. VLC is an open source multimedia player which is capable of playing all video formats. VLC supports popular formats like DIVX, MPEG-4, Quick Time & almost any video format.

2) Installing CODEC packs:

Installing codec packs will enable your current media player to play all video formats. One of the popular codecs is k-lite codec pack. K-lite supports all video files & available in different packs like Basic, Standard, Full, Corporate Edition & Mega. Mega is preferable if you want to get real alternatives to play real media files.
